Thank you for an amazing evening!

January 28th, 2012. A rare, unforgettable night for all of us who attended.  85 people with curious minds / open hearts came together in a gorgeous space, then later smooshed together in a screening room to learn about literacy, reading books, Twitter in the 19th century, literary insects, the Literature Re-mix Project, The Bookmark Tour, MIBLs - and more.

Now is the time to state the obvious: You showed interest and conviction in what we're doing. You are both practical and creative. Joining forces together, we'll make reading relevant and sexy for those who most need to pick up a book - and it's never too late for that.

So excited I can't sleep,

Deborah Pardes

Sometimes, I come across a voice that sings the perfect note. Listen here...  I hope he is resting in some kind of peace. Or just perpetually reading a great book.

A few years ago, Artists for Literacy transitioned to an all volunteer staff.  We are building a new infrastructure to support Artists for Literacy 2.0. We are hard at work making additions to the website, adding educational tools to the SIBL Library and mobilizing artists here in our new home in Los Angeles. We are creating critical partnerships with individuals and corporations who are commiitted to the promotion of literacy through the powerful work of artists.

I'll be using this blog space to keep you updated on the latest developments.  If you have specific questions or interest in getting involved - please contact me.
Thanks for your curiousity and support - Deborah Pardes
